General Information
Information desired from LESCO relative to subject matters covered by this manual may be obtained by personal visit, by telephone, by mail, or through the official website at www.lesco.gov.pk.
The local office of the area is the main contact office where a separate window, along with consumer service centers, provides the information required for new connections and other consumer services.
Application for Service Connection
- Application and Power Supply Contract forms in English and Urdu are available free of cost at relevant LESCO offices and online.
- Applicants are required to fill out the forms and attach the supporting documents listed in the form.
- LESCO staff must assist applicants where help is needed for completing the application.
- Applications may be submitted in person or by registered mail, and an acknowledgement receipt should be issued.
Documents Required with the Application
- Ownership proof of the premises where connection is required.
- An affidavit from the owner stating that no earlier connection exists at the premises, or that any previous dues will be cleared if discovered later.
- A no-objection certificate from the landlord, where the applicant is a tenant, along with ownership proof and the required affidavit.
- Attested copies of CNIC of the applicant and two witnesses.
- Power of attorney in cases where a company authorizes a representative to sign and execute the application.
- For incorporated companies: certificate of incorporation, board resolution, charge creation certificate, and the directors list with CNIC copies.
- Available site plan of the industry or premises.
- For change of name or load revision cases: a no-arrears certificate from the Revenue Office and, where needed, a wiring test report.
Design, Cost Estimate, and Demand Notice
- After receiving the complete application, LESCO issues an acknowledgement receipt and serial number for further processing.
- Based on site inspection and applicable eligibility criteria, the application is evaluated and approved.
- A demand notice for service connection cost and security deposit is then issued to the applicant.
- Demand notices may be sent by registered post, courier, or delivered personally against receipt.
- Applicants are informed about designated bank branches for payment, and the bank provides an acknowledgement after payment.
- After payment, the applicant executes the power supply contract in triplicate.
- LESCO determines final priority after payment of demand notices and submission of the wiring test report, subject to policy exemptions.
Approval of the Applicant's Installation
Before any electrical wiring or energy-consuming apparatus is connected to the LESCO distribution system, it must be inspected and approved by LESCO. No connection shall be made without prior inspection and approval.
Categories and Time Frames
Categories of applicants and the time schedule for various categories of new connections are governed by the relevant annexures and LESCO policy.
